Samir Baul presents mystic songs

Folk singer Samir Baul entertained the audience by presenting popular songs composed by renowned folk bards at a solo musical show marking international museum day at Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on Thursday.
The museum is celebrating international museum day through a weeklong celebrations programme which commenced from Thursday.
Samir Baul commenced the show singing Fakir Lalon Shah’s song Elahi Alamin Go Allah.
The singer presented folk songs composed by mystic bards like Fakir Lalon Shah, Panju Shah, Bijoy Sarkar and Mahindra Bhushan at the programme.
He rendered a number of popular Lalon songs like Dekho Dekho Mon Ray, Sandh Metena Langal, Prem Jano Na Premer Hater Bulbula, Swarup Dekhbi Jadi, Chander Gaye Chand Legechhe, Morey Jadi Phire Asi and others at the show to the audience’s delight.
Samir Baul next sang Panju Shah’s song Anake Felona Murshid, Bijoy Sarkar’s song Mon Torey Boli and a popular song by Mahindra Bhushan Tui Amay Korechhis Pagol at the show.
Child artiste Abir Baul and up and coming folk singer Hamida Parveen joined Samir Baul on stage as he sang the Lalon songs Dhanya Dhanya Boli Tarey and Amar Gharkhanay Ke Basot Korey.
Poet Nirmalendu Goon attended the show as the chief guest.
The weeklong international museum day celebrations programme by Bangladesh National Museum is featuring seminars, memorial lectures, discussions and cultural shows. The event will end on Wednesday.
