Nasima Khatun Bulu, wife of Hatem Ali Mollah of village Agrabhulat under Sharsha upazila in Jessore, alleged on Thursday that the detective branch of police had picked up her husband from their residence on May 10 and he still had not returned home.
At a press conference at Jessore Press Club, Bulu claimed that her husband had been picked up by five armed men claiming themselves to be members of the detective branch when he had been feeding the cattle.
‘They had handcuffed Hatem before taking him away,’ Bulu said, adding: ‘They came to our residence by two motorbikes.’
‘But the DB officials said that they were not involved with the abduction when we went to the office on May 11,’ Bulu said.
When contacted, Imaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Jessore police detective branch, told New Age that they had not detained Hatem.
