Police started investigation to verify Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan’s allegation against his colleagues of physically assaulting him on May 5 midnight following Bangladesh Film Actors’ Association elections.
Tejgaon Industrial Police station’s SI Habibullah told New Age that he had already talked with some people at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation where the alleged incident took place and had applied to BFDC authorities to provide him video footages of the said incident.
Habibullah said he started investigation on Tuesday after getting permission from Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Monday to investigate on Shakib’s general diary filed with Tejgaon Industrial Police station.
Shakib Khan filed the diary on May 8 claiming he was feeling insecure following physical assault on him by actors Saimon Sadik and Zia, dance director Saif Khan Kalu, fighter Shamim and others in front of the election centre on May 5 midnight.
Though Shakib was not contesting at the election, the sitting president of the association Shakib claimed he went to BFDC after getting the information that some people had bad intention of manipulating the elections.
Shakib in the general dairy also accused newly elected general secretary Zayed Khan behind the attack on him. Zayed, however, told New Age that he had helped Shakib to escape from the place.
Meanwhile, Dhaka District Judge Court on May 11 stayed handing over of power to the newly elected committee of the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association following a case filed by actor Ramij Uddin seeking cancelling the election results of the actors association on allegations of vote-rigging and anomalies.
