Shiblee wins Magic Bauliana 2016 crown

Shiblee Sadiq, form Rangpur, became the champion of folk music-based reality show Magic Bauliana 2016 at the grand finale of the contest which took place at the Aegis Training Centre at Savar, Ashulia on Sunday.
Mymensingh’s contestant Shafiqul Islam became the first runner up and Kushtia’s Laltu Hossain became the second runner up at the contest.
Shiblee Sadiq won Tk 500,000 as prize money. Shafiqul Islam won Tk 300,000, Laltu Hossain won Tk 200,000, the third runner up Papiya Jahan won Tk 100,000 and the fourth runner up Kamruzzaman Rabbi won Tk 50,000.
Square Toiletries Limited and Maasranga Television will open a digital channel featuring the 10 finalists and employ the help of a legal team to ensure the contestants retain the rights to their songs, said a press release.
The reality show was arranged for the second time jointly by Square Toiletries Limited’s oral care brand ‘Magic’ and Maasranga Television.
Over 30,000 contestants registered to take part in Magic Bauliana 2016. The audition rounds were held in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rangpur, Kushtia, Barisal, Sylhet, Faridpur, Mymensingh and Rajshahi.
Celebrated folk singers including Farida Parvin, Indra Mohan Rajbongshi and Shafi Mandal judged the event.
