Baliyapukur Bidyanikaten of Rajshahi emerged as champions of the Prime Bank Young Tigers National School Cricket 2017 as they beat Kashinath Alauddin School and College of Moulavibazar by 34 runs at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Tuesday.
Overnight rain forced the match to be curtailed to a 24-over-per side affair and Baliyapukur made 129-7 thanks to 59 from Samrat Ali after they were sent into bat.
In reply, Kashinath were in all sorts of trouble losing half their wickets for just 38 runs before five-down Mamunur Rashid showed some rearguard action.
But opening bowler Foysal, who ended with 4-16 to be adjudicated as the man of the final, dismissed Mamunur for 27 to help his side clinch the trophy.
