Diverse Bangla songs presented

Cultural organisation Mohiruho celebrated its 10th founding anniversary through a cultural show at the Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Saturday.
Up and coming artistes of the organisation entertained the audience by presenting songs by Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, folk songs and others at the show.
The evening’s programme titled ‘Bangla Gaaner Asor’ commenced with a chorus presentation of a Kheyal, based on raga Yaman, by the artistes of the organisation.
Next the group sang popular Tagore song Akash Bhora Surja Taara and a song by national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Payela Bole Rimi Jhimi.
The artistes entertained the audience by presenting diverse Bangla songs in solo and group performances at the programme.
Singer Pradip Sarkar sang a Nazrul song Suray O Banir Mala Diye on the occasion.
The audience greatly enjoyed performances by young children of the organisation who in chorus sang a children’s song Chal Jai Dal Bedhe and popular Lalon song Khepa Re Tui at the show.
‘I always enjoy watching young children performing at programmes and today’s show was also no different. I have greatly enjoyed it,’ Sabuj, an audience member, told New Age.
