Elections to the board of directors of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry began in Dhaka on Sunday morning for the 2017-19 term.
The voting started at 9:00am at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre and it will conclude at 5:00pm.
A total of 36 elected directors from both chamber and association groups will nominate the president and two vice-presidents for the FBCCI board for two years, according to an FBCCI press release.
Former BGMEA president and current FBCCI vice-president M Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin are contesting the election for the post of president under the banner of Shammilita Ganatantrik Parishad, while president of Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association Kazi Iftaquer Hossain under the banner of Babosayee Oikya Forum, a platform of businessmen, for the president post.
