Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association has served a legal notice upon Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan on Monday asking the hero to explain why he had insulted the directors within a week.
The notice cited that Shakib Khan made derogatory comments on filmmakers on media where he is reported to say ‘most of the filmmakers are jobless and have nothing to do.’
‘We have sent a legal notice to Shakib Khan seeking explanation and we have requested every filmmaker to stop working with Shakib Khan unless we get a satisfying explanation from him (Shakib Khan)’, said Badiul Alam Khokon, general secretary of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association.
The association has also requested all its members to discontinue all work with Shakib in the meantime. An official notice in this regard, signed by general secretary of the association Badiul Alam Khokon, was issued on Monday.
A letter has also been sent to director Shamim Ahmed Rony who is shooting the film Rangbaj featuring Shakib Khan in lead role.
‘We have asked Rony to stop working with Shakib Khan unless we get a satisfying explanation from the actor. If Rony does not comply, we will take action against him as per the rules of the association’, said Khokon.
Shakib Khan made the comment following Opu Biswas disclosing about her secret marriage with Shakib Khan in 2008 and having a son in an interview with a private TV channel on April 10.
Shakib Khan and Opu Biswas, however, reconciled the day after.
Shakib Khan from shooting spot in Pabna told New Age that a misunderstanding was going on. ‘I hope directors’ association will not turn it into a big thing’, the hero said.
The actor also believes that the problem will be solved soon. ‘I have talked to the president of directors’ association and I hope that we would come to an understanding soon’, added Shakib Khan.
