The Bangladesh Cricket Board will approve the new list of contracted players for national team and consider their pay hike during a board meeting at Mirpur today.
Selectors have already formed the grading of the new pool of national players and submitted it to BCB for approval during the meeting of the board directors at their head office.
All-rounder Nasir Hossain along with spinner Arafat Sunny and pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain are expected to make way for Taskin Ahmed, Mehedi Hasan and Mossadek Hossain in the new contract list.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said that they will also consider increasing the salary of the contracted players as it had been the demand of the national players for quite some time.
‘We will approve our new list contracted cricketers for the national side,’ said Jalal.
‘There is a demand of salary increase and let us see where we stand in this regard.’
According to insiders a 25 per cent salary increase will be proposed in the meeting.
Currently A+ cricketers receive TK 2,00,000 per month while the A grade players earn TK 1,70,000 while cricketers from B, C and D categories earn Tk 120,000, Tk 90,000 and Tk 60,000 respectively.
There is also a slim chance of declaring the new Twenty20 skipper as the post went vacant after Mashrafee bin Murtaza retired from the shortest format after their recent Sri Lanka tour.
There will be several other issues that will be discussed in the meeting that includes replacing a new umpires’ committee chairman, Nazmul Karim, who died recently while there will be talks on how BCB goes after their new sponsorship deal.
Top of Mind, a media planning company, won the sponsorship rights of the Bangladesh national cricket team spanning two years for Tk 41.41 crore in 2015.
