24 univs participate at group photo show

Photographs on display at the exhibition.

Students of twenty four universities are displaying their works at a group photo show underway at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi.

Organised by the photography club of United International University the show features a total of 108 photographs by 63 university students on various subjects including scenic beauty of Bangladesh, wildlife and nature, daily lives of people, monuments and others.

Professor Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, vice chancellor of UIU inaugurated the exhibition titled ‘2nd Inter – University Photography Exhibition; Shutter Stories, Chapter – 02’ on April 19.

A photograph by GBG Son, a student of Jahangirnagar University, depicts scenic beauty of Chittagong Hill Tracts. The photograph provides the viewers with a bird's-eye view of the mountains covered by forests from the sky.

In his displayed photograph, Al Rafi, a student of North South University, shows white clouds touching the mountaintops in the hill tracts.

The photograph by Sayem Uddin Saikat, who is also from NSU, shows a beautiful white pigeon. The bird is sitting on a wall covered by green moss.

Asif Ahmed, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, shows a young hardworking woman in his photograph. Despite all the struggle and hardship in her life the woman in the photo is seen smiling.

The exhibition will remain open from 3pm to 8pm till today.
