Chittagong-based artistes perform at Shilpakala

Artistes of Chittagong-based music organisation, Abhyuday, entertained audience during a programme at Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh of Shilpakala Academy on Friday.

Organised by Bangladesh Sangeet Sangathan Samanway Parishad, the programme featured solo and chorus performances by Abhyuday artistes.

A chorus presentation of Rabindranatha Tagore's popular song Tomay Gaan Shonabo commenced the show.

Following were presentation of a few Tagore songs like Ei Korechho Bhalo, Rakho Rakho Re, Majhe Majhe Tobo Dekha Pai, Dhire Dhire and Mora Satyer Pore.

Abhyuday artistes also paid tribute to its founder late eminent musician Ajit Roy by presenting a few songs composed by the Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste.

Among Ajit Roy's compositions, Abhyuday artistes presented songs like Hey Mohamanab, Bangladesher Nadi Math, Apamaney Tumi, Swadhinata Tumi, Sukh Tumi Ki, Ami Tomakei Dekhi and Ekti Bangladesh.
