Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said Bangladesh Nationalist Party will have to take part in the next parliamentary polls to come out of the quicksand of blunder it sank into after the January-5 election of 2014.
‘We hope the party won't repeat the mistake it made by boycotting the January-5 election,’ he told reporters after inaugurating a footbridge at Padua in Comilla on Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
Noting that the participation in the election is its democratic right, Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister said BNP will have to achieve and enjoy it from its own. ‘Why will the government call the opposition parties to polls? Taking part in the election is their right’, he said.
