Authorities seized over 17 kilograms of gold from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Monday.
Customs deputy commissioner Rokhsana Khatun said that the detectives recovered a total of 150 gold bars weighing 17 kilograms and 400 grams from flight BG128.
The flight from Abu Dhabi landed at 10:15am at the airport, said Wing Commander Forhad Hossain Khan, manager of the airport.
Customs intelligence and a government intelligence agency raided the aircraft and found the gold bars abandoned on a passenger seat and on AC panel of the flight, he said.
