Ballistics report of the lead-ball found on journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul’s head has confirmed that it was similar of the cartridges of Shahzadpur mayor Halimul Haque Miru’s shotgun.
The investigation officer of the case and inspector of Shahjajpur police station Munirul Islam confirmed the matter.
The report was submitted to local police station this morning and also filed at Shahzadpur Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court few days earlier, he said.
Earlier on February 2, Daily Samakal reporter Shimul, was covering an infighting of the ruling Awami League in Sirajganj while he was shot and later died.
Awami League backed mayor Miru, allegedly fired the shots during the factional clash.
Later he was suspended from the party.
