Members of the national cricket team would receive Tk one crore as cash incentive for their historic win over Sri Lanka in 100th Test match, said the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday.
BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said the award was announced by BCB president Nazmul Hasan after the end of fourth day’s play in Colombo.
‘The money will be equally divided to all members and coaching staff of the team,’ Jalal told New Age.
Bangladesh defeat Sri Lanka by four wickets, chasing down a target of 191-run on the fifth and final day to square off two-match series.
The BCB official claimed that a meeting involving the team’s senior players and BCB high-ups after the end of second day’s play worked as catalyst to Tigers’ success in the match.
‘Players were given a clear message by the official and they responded well,’ said Jalal.
