Dhaka South city mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Tuesday announced a 21-day lockdown for Old Dhaka’s Wari area, which was declared as red zone for coronavirus pandemic.

‘Lockdown will be effective from July 4 to 25,’ the mayor said after a management cooperation meeting held at Dhaka South City Corporation auditorium at 4:00pm.

He said that except two, the entrance and exit roads of Wari’s would shut for this time.

Wari will be second area in Dhaka, but first under south city to face such lockdown after East Razabazar.
