A total of 13 officials of Chattogram Customs House have been tested positive for COVID-19 till Thursday.
CCH Audit Investigation and Research unit assistant commissioner Nur-e-Hasna Sanjida Anusuya said that among the infected officers, six are revenue officers, six assistant revenue officers and another is a computer operator.
CCH commissioner Mohammad Fakhrul Alam said that many people gather here as 92 per cent of the country’s import-export is done through the customs station. The customs officials are getting infected with coronavirus while working with the outsiders.
Some 3,000 to 3,500 people gather at the Chattogram Customs House every day including the officials, agents, employees and other service holders, he added.
