Bangladesh one-day international skipper Tamim Iqbal on Thursday revealed that his long-time national team-mate Sakib al Hasan had refused to come as guest in the final episode of his Facebook live sessions on May 23 owing to some personal reasons.
In the penultimate edition of his online chat session he brought Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson as his guest.
After their conversation concluded Tamim announced that in his final live session he planned to bring Sakib as guest along with Mashrafee bin Murtaza, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah, but the ace all-rounder had rejected his offer, so the episode will go on without him.
‘I wanted to clear something. I have seen many ask, when will Sakib come. What happened is I contacted him 10-12 days back. Because I wanted to do the last show with five of us together. That’s what I really wanted. But unfortunately maybe for some personal reason he can’t join us.
‘We don’t need to dive too much into it. People could have personal work and we should all respect it. But I am grateful to other four who agreed to do this,’ Tamim said.
This revelation came after fans were repeated calling for the presence of the all-rounder in the much beloved show.
This impromptu talk show began on May 2 with Mushfiq as the first guest. Mahmudullah and Mashrafee came in as guests after him but Sakib, however, didn’t show up.
Sakib, in an interview with Deutsche Welle said he watched the first two episodes of Tamim’s show while staying with his family in the USA.
