American International University - Bangladesh signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Institute of Metro and Rail Technology of India to offer short-term training programmes on railway.

IMRT having its office located in Secundrabad city of Telengana state of India is a first-of-its-kind institution that aims to be a knowledge leader in Metro and Rail technology.

Under this agreement, AIUB and IMRT will jointly launch short term training on ‘Introduction to Metro and Railway Systems’, ‘Power Supply and Traction’, ‘Rolling Stock Engineering’ etc.

The agreement was signed by Professor Abdur Rahman, associate dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB and Tapan Ghosh, country director of BARSYL (authorised representative of IMRT). 

AIUB vice-chancellor Carmen Z Lamagna was also present in the signing ceremony at her meeting room on Sunday.

AIUB senior assistant professor Chowdhury Akram Hossain and assistant professor Shama Islam attested the signing of the MoC on behalf of AIUB.
