Passion for cricket runs high in Bangladesh, especially when cheering for the Tigers in the ongoing World Cup is concerned. In order to demonstrate support for Bangladeshi cricket team and depict the passionate involvement of the society with the game, a short film and a music video were launched.
The short film that runs for two and a half minutes depicts the World Cup and the dreams of Bangladeshi cricket fans from the point of view of a poor rickshaw-operator named Jalil.
The short film titled Jaliler Biswas is directed by Vicky Zahed and produced by the advertising agency Motion Bhaskar. In the film Jalil believes that his support can help Bangladeshi cricket team win their matches. Jalil, however, doesn’t have a television of his own to watch the matches.
In order to save enough money to buy a TV, Jalil along with his family members set out to work harder. The film also addresses millions of fans in the country like Jalil who do not own a TV.
The film, in which Hashnat Ripon, Shamima Shimu, Sakib and Amit acted, has already been made available on youtube and other online portals.
Motion Bhaskar has previously made short films on different social issues including eve-teasing, breast cancer, selfi craze, and others.
A group of local musicians, on the other hand, have released a music video across television and radio stations to show their support for the Tigers.
Singers Moidul Islam Khan Shuvo, Shafi Mondol, Chandana Majumder, Jakia Sultana Tumpa, Adnan and Amjad Hossain have lent their voice for the music video titled Ora Aschee.
The lyrics of the song were penned by Shuvo and Mehedi, while the composition was done by Amjad.
‘Bangladesh cricket jersey designer Shejan Lincon from Tex Weave played an instrumental role in conceptualizing the video for Bangladesh cricket team,’ said Moidul Islam Khan Shuvo.
The visual production of the video was done by Prekkhagriho.
