Mohammad Toaha remembered

Politicians, academics and journalists on Friday at a commemoration meeting in the capital said that left leader Mohammad Toaha had dreamt of establishment of a repression-free secular democratic Bangladesh.
Following his ideals politicians can work for establishing a repression-free democratic society, they said at the commemoration meeting Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal organised at Bangladesh Medical Association auditorium to mark the 24th death anniversary of Toaha.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal faction president Hasanul Haque Inu, also the information minister, said that Toaha was a patriotic politician who worked lifelong for establishing an oppression-free society.
Columnist Syed Abul Maksud said that the left parties could be the alternative political force to the Awami League and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
Dhaka University professor Mesbah Kamal said that in Bangladesh the poor were always deprived and called on the left parties to work in favour of development of the poor.
Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, also former industries minister, said that his party would work for establishing the ideals of late founder of the party Mohammad Toaha.
