30mn stoves to be replaced with biogas-run clean ones: Nasrul

The state minister for power and energy Nasrul Hamid has said Bangladesh will replace 30 million conventional stoves with environment-friendly bio-gas run cooking stoves by 2030.
He said a country action plan has been prepared to introduce the clean cookshoves across the country.
The minister disclosed the plan while addressing the World Summit on Clean Cookstoves in New York, USA on Friday, according to a message received here on Saturday.
UN Foundation and Global Allience for Clean Cookstoves organised the global summit.
The state minister said Bangladesh has been encouraging the multiple use of renewable energy.
Already there have been announced incentives for investors to invest in the renewable energy sector.
He mentioned that the government has created Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority to coordinate and stimulate investment in renewable energy sector by both the public and private sectors.
