The attorney general’s office on Sunday filed an application to get the certified copy of a High Court order that had granted bail to Tuba Group managing director Delwar Hossain on which he was released five days ago.
Assistant attorney general Sheikh Saifuzzaman filed the application, said officials concerned.
‘We cannot make a decision whether to move the Appellate Division challenging the bail, as we are yet to get the certified copy of the High Court order,’ said additional attorney general Murad Reza following Delwar’s release on August 5.
He had told reporters that his office applied for a copy of the order following issuance of the order by the High Court on July 24 in a case of culpable homicide by negligence in connection with the fire at his apparel factory Tazreen Fashions that killed 112 workers in November 2012.
Delwar was sent to jail after he surrendered to the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on February 9 in the case.
Delwar is also facing six other cases of cheating for allegedly issuing checks which have been bounced for cash deficit. He obtained bail in the cases earlier.
