Indian Bengali writer Nabarun Bhattacharya died from cancer at Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital in Kolkata on Thursday afternoon. He was 66.
Nabarun, a writer committed to a revolutionary and radical aesthetics, was suffering from cancer for long, reports Zee News.
Born on June 23, 1948 to actor Bijan Bhattacharya and writer Mahashweta Devi was awarded with Sahitya Academy award for his anarchic novel, Herbert (1993), which was adapted into a film of the same name in 2005, by Suman Mukhopadhyay.
Kangal Malshat, Lubdhak, Ei Mrityu Upatyaka Amar Desh Na, Halaljhanda o Anyanya, Mahajaner Aayna,    Fyaturur Kumbhipak, Raater Circus and Anarir Narijnan were prominent among his other works.
