One killed in city factory fire

An apparel worker was killed and three others injured as fire broke out at an apparel factory in the city’s Kamrangirchar on Thursday morning, police said.
Mayer Doa, the tin-shaded baby wear factory, caught fire at around 6:30am, said fire service control room official.
Two firefighting units rushed to the spot and put out the blaze at about 7:50am, said the duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense.
The victim, Kabir hossain, 35, was a van-puller of the factory, who succumbed to his burn injuries at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said DMCH police outpost officer-in-charge Mozammel Haque.
The injured Shohag, Shahin and Rubel were admitted to the DMCH burn unit.
Fire was suspected to originate from an electric short circuit, fire service officials said.
The damage caused by the blaze was estimated to be around Tk 40 lakh, said owner of the factory.
