Aref Syed, who played the eponymous character in director Morshedul Islam’s Anil Bagchir Ekdin, is going to turn over a new leaf in his career as he prepares to make his debut in Hindi cinema.
The film, Curse of the Kohinoor, is being directed by Raghav Murali and produced by Ziryab Entertainment.
‘It’s a great honour and an important milestone in my career,’ said Aref Syed.
Besides Aref, the film will also star Bengali-descent US actor Rahsaan Noor Islam and Indian actress Tarini Pal. Aref plays a supporting role in the film, which is about a maidservant who teams up with an outlaw to save the great gem Kohinoor from an evil cult.
The first part of the shooting began in Bangladesh on Tuesday and will continue until September 8. The remaining part will be done in India.
The film will be released in India, the USA and China.
Aref said he got the chance to act in it with the help of local producer Sumon Arefin.
‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin was a serious film while Curse of the Kohinoor is a comedy with some action and elements of adventure. I always wanted to act in different kinds of films; therefore, I have signed the film. I hope the audience will like it,’ he added.
