Another Hizb-ut Tahrir man arrested in Sylhet

The Rapid Action Battalion arrested another alleged activist of banned organisation Hizb-ut-Tahrir in Sylhet city on Wednesday.
The arrested was identified as Jewel Ahmed, 26, business administration graduate of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology; he hailed from Bianibazar upazila of Sylhet.
RAB-9 deputy media director Fakhrul Islam Khan they held four youths, including Jewel, at different places of Sylhet on Wednesday night; but, the rest were released as any evidence of their involvement in terrorist activities was not found during the interrogation.
Jewel was an active worker of the Hizb-ut Tahrir, Fakhrul said.
RAB-9 assistant media director Mohammad Ziaul Haque told New Age that they would hand over the arrested to the Kotwali police.
Earlier, the Counter Terrorism Unit arrested Iffat Ahmed Chowdhury on August 2 and Abdul Aziz on July 19 on charge of being linked with terrorist activities.
They both were fourth year students of SUST industrial and production engineering department.
