Hizb ut-Tahrir activist arrested at Dhaka airport

A Hizb ut-Tahrir activist was arrested on Sunday from Shah Jalal International Airport while he was trying to fly for Malaysia.
The arrested was identified as Mahub Iqbal Munna, 25, a third year law department student of private-run Leading University, Sylhet and an activist of Hizb ut-Tahrir, police said.
Sylhet Kotwali police officer-in-charge, Sohel Ahmad, confirming the arrest news said that the immigration police arrested Munna around 11:30pm on Sunday from the Airport.
‘The immigration police handed him over to the Sylhet Kotwali police on Monday,’ the officer said.
Munna was among the Hizb ut-Tahrir activists who attacked Rapid Action Battalion members in January this year while distributing leaflets of the group in front of Bandar Bazar Jame Mosque, the officer added saying, ‘Police arrested him in 2011 while distributing party leaflets, later he got bail from the court’.
