JU ADMISSION TEST : 113 to vie for a JU seat

A total of  2,26,572 admission seekers have applied against 2,000 seats under five units and three institutes in the admission tests of Jahangirnagar University for first year honors courses under academic session 2015-2016.
Approximately 113 admission seekers will vie for a seat, said JU deputy registrar Mohammad Ali, also secretary of central admission test committee.
This year 45 seats have increased in three departments — computer science and engineering, environmental sciences and geological sciences, he added.
Of the submitted forms, 38,850 are under A unit against 450 seats (faculty of mathematical and physical sciences), 18,852 under B unit against 355 seats (faculty of social science), 41,079 under D unit against 365 seats (faculty of biological science), 18,472 under E unit against 200 seats (faculty of business studies), 15,167 under F unit against 55 seats (faculty of law and justices) and 6,448 under G unit against 50 seats (institute of business administration), 12,791 under H unit against 50 seats (institute of information technology) while 18,351 under C unit (arts and humanity faculty) against 475 seats.
The deputy registrar said all kinds of electronic devices including mobile phone, calculator and clock are prohibited in the exam centres.
Admission test under A unit will be held on October 25, those under D unit on October 26, and tests under H and B units on October 28.
The tests under E, F and G units will be held on October 29 and those under C unit from October 31 to November 2.
The admission test will be held in six shifts in a day while the results would be published as per the individual unit and would be available through SMS and at JU website, JU registrar Abu Bakar Siddique said.
Admission schedules and the seat plans of the admission test will be available at JU website-www.juniv.edu.
