Former Major General Amjad Khan Chowdhury, also the founder & chief executive PRAN-RFL Group, died at Duke Medical Hospital of North Carolina in the United States on Wednesday evening, said a press release.
He was 76.
Amjad Khan had been suffering from diabetes and heart diseases for a long time.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
His younger son Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, the deputy managing director of PRAN-RFL group, said he would be buried at the Military Graveyard in Dhaka.
Amjad Khan Chowdhury was born in Natore in 1939.
He received his education from Pakistan Military Academy & Australian Staff College.
He joined the Pakistan Army in 1956.
Amjad Khan Chowdhury started his business career in 1982.
He was an active member of premier trade bodies.
He was also the president of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industries.
