32 jhut warehouses gutted in Savar

A fire burnt down 32 warehouses of waste garment fabrics, locally known as jhut, at Jamgara of Ashulia in Savar on early Wednesday, reports the United News of Bangladesh.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from a jhut warehouse at about 4:30am and soon spread to adjoining other such facilities.
A total of 10 fire-fighting trucks from DEPZ, Tongi, Dhamrai and Savar fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts.
The extent of loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Dipok Kumar Saha confirmed the incident.
